Event TODAY at El Musico

[Today], Maria, the owner of El Musico, is hosting an event to have
Dale Francisco come speak to the Eastside. Maria was at the Marijuana
Mile march a week ago, and heard Dale speak on this issue, and liked his
stance. She said the Eastside is getting bombarded with ads and signs,
but candidates haven't been doing much to woo the neighborhood. Now that
it is being overrun with dispensaries, it's time for a change.

Dale has been taking a strong stance on medical marijuana during the
ordinance committee meetings, stating that dispensaries are in conflict
with state law, and either need to be true collectives, or banned.

The Eastside is often neglected by candidates due to low voter turnout
statistics. Yet this neighborhood has strong concerns from both
residents and businesses. Since a candidate for mayor is willing to come
talk to us about what he would do for us if elected, I think we should
put him to the test by coming to the event and asking questions. Maria
is encouraging everyone to attend.

Please send this on to as many Eastside folks as you like, and encourage
them to come. Ricardo, this would be a good opportunity for outreach
from the Franklin Center Advisory Committee, and a chance to represent
yourselves to a sitting council member. By making our names, faces, and
concerns known to a current councilman and candidate for mayor, we are
only helping our neighborhood.
